Administrative Update in Sheep and Goat Identification Regulation

Amendments to Bovine Identification Regulation Published
Regulations regarding the identification and tracking system for bovine animals have been updated. The authority designation within the regulation was changed, QR code implementation for ear tags was introduced, and turquoise was added to the ear tag color options. Additionally, a transition period until December 31, 2026, was granted for the use of older ear tags containing city codes.
Amended Legislation
Change:The term 'Food and Control' in Article 4 of the Regulation on the Identification, Registration, and Tracking of Bovine Animals was changed to 'Livestock'. A new paragraph was added to Article 21 regarding the replacement of lost tags. Article 48 was amended to update the identification number format and include QR codes. Article 50 was revised to mandate QR codes on tags, and turquoise was added to the authorized ear tag colors in Article 51. Furthermore, Provisional Article 3 was added to set the expiration date for city-coded tags as December 31, 2026.

Amendment to Communiqué on National Occupational Standards
